Coaching Staff

Our coaching staff features some of the area’s most respected coaches. We place emphasis on skill instruction and player development, while also expanding the understanding of game concepts and team strategies.  

Midwest Express Coaches are current and former college D1 players, All-Americans, state champions, current HS and college-level coaches,  all with a proven track record of winning and growing the game of lacrosse

Mark Berutich - Director & 2022 MW Region Coach

Scott Beesley, 2022 MW Region Coach

Scott Beesley - Coach
  • During his time at HSE, the lacrosse program has grown from a club sport (2013-2015) to a school recognized, varsity sport (2016-present)
  • Coach Beesley has accumulated an overall record of 88-41 (20-19 in his first two season and 68-22 over the last four years)
  • Coached five U.S. All-Americans, eleven 1st Team All-State Players, seven 2nd Team All-State Players
  • Vice President and Coach, Mad Cats Lacrosse, 2015-2019
  • Assistant coach at Noblesville and HSE before taking over as Hamilton Southeastern Head Coach in 2013
  • Played club lacrosse while getting a degree in health and physical education at Ball State University
  • Graduated Noblesville High School, Noblesville, IN in 2007; played soccer and lacrosse

Bob Budington, 2023 MW Region Coach

Bob has been coaching lacrosse on the North Shore of Chicago for over 10 years-
• In 2008, started and directed the North Shore Lacrosse Club
• Coordinated off-season skills program for New Trier High School for three years
• Most recently, started the Bombers Lacrosse Club, where he served as Head of Coaching

Scott Kolb, State HS Coach

Scott Kolb has been instrumental in the establishment, growth, and leadership for the sport of lacrosse in the states of Illinois, California, and Indiana. He is a long-time dedicated member of US Lacrosse as a parent, player, official, coach and fan of the game. Scott is a US Lacrosse Certified Level 2 Boys Coach.
Scott is a Founder and Past President of the Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association (IYLA) and served on the Board of Directors for US Lacrosse, Indiana Chapter and the Cathedral High School Girls Lacrosse Program. He is the Founder and Director of Coaching for the Saint Simon Lacrosse Club Ministry and SmartLacrosse... serving youth boys and girls in Indianapolis.

Scott is a student and lifetime journeyman of the game of lacrosse... he was taught fun, fundamentals, and fellowship in the game at a very early early age in Baltimore... and went on to play and coach at every level... youth, high school (John Carroll) college (Univ of Maryland) and post-collegiate Club (NIU, Windy City LC, Orange County LC, and Circle City LC). Scott's knowledge, skills, and abilities are highly regarded throughout the lacrosse community and he has worked hard to grow the game across the country... inspiring proper skill-set fundamentals, IQ, and honor to the game.

Scott also teaches and serves coaches, student athletes, parents, and youth sports organizations as a Certified Trainer for PCA ("Positive Coaching Alliance"), University of Notre Dame's ("Play Like A Champion Today") and the Catholic Youth Organization.

Scott currently serves as an Assistant Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach at Cathedral High School (two Indiana State titles) and as a Coach/Instructor for MaxLax Indy. Scott formerly coached club lacrosse for Titanium and True. He stills plays competitive lacrosse today.
